It seems like 2020 has started off pretty shitty for most of us across the world, especially with the Coronavirus affecting the world. Let's take a break for a moment to unwind and for the time being talk about some anime's that have exceeded expectations and one that's on the cusp if it wasn't for fillers.
1. My Hero Academia (Boku No Hero)
I have to give credit where credit is due, this is by far one of the best anime's to come out in the past 5 to 7 years and with it's popularity still rising this is an anime that is very hard not to like in any aspect. Deku is an impassioned child with a dream and he can damn well achieve that dream of becoming the greatest hero ever. With a great supporting cast around him it does give me that Naruto vibe in a way but back to Deku he is just great in his own way and with a power to match along with brains I am pretty excited to walk along this character to watch him achieve his dream.
Rating 9.5/10
2. Demon Slayer (Kimetsu No Yaiba)
This is one that has piqued my interest since it's coming out party!!! It just has amazing fight scenes, a freaking Michael Jackson evil boss ass character, two crybabies who kick ass a demon chick who is kicking ass and just a boar human???? How much crazier can it get? Plus the main protagonist is in his own right probably one of my favorite characters so far in anime right now. If I have to give this a personal rating it deserves a solid 9 out of 10 rating.
Rating 9/10
3. The Rising of The Shield Hero (Tate No Yuusha No Nariagari)
Ah good ol' new ol' fashioned reality to virtual world game type anime, this one is another personal favorite due to the fact is the hero is a nobody at first and is deemed as an outcast by his "so called" comrades but along the way makes use of that and basically becomes the Deadpool of the series. (Not to mention an amazing scene where The Shield Hero Naofumi renames the two who betrayed him at first just great I'll post the video in a bit) but, it's a nice starter into the newer generations and a relief from the typical hero type bs. Rating 8.4/10
4. Dr. Stone
Science? Who would've thought that science will rule anime, I certainly didn't! But it seems to have captured the hearts and minds of old and new school alike. I mean come on a Tarzan looking motherf'er, and bringing humanity from stone is one thing but actually teaching us a thing or two is another, I was forced tuned into this by a good friend of mine and from a non-biased opinion (probably the only one on this list) it does seem to fill a void that has been lost from anime for a long time and that is humanity with it's use of scientific methods it has proven "scientifically" to be one of the best anime's of 2020.
Rating 8.7/10
5. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations
Ah last but not least, Boruto (Naruto's Kid) is by some opinion a disappointment. But I deem it a reader's delight, yes they had a couple of good filler arcs but, the creme de la creme is the Momoshiki Invasion Arc in the show if anyone saw the movie there's a lot that's not explained until one watches the arc. Yes time travel is cool but, like I said the manga is where you'll get the most bang for your buck so to speak plus that first minute of the first episode is what we are all waiting for, so as of now all we can do if we are fans of Naruto is just hang on and wait every month for the manga and hope for the best.
Show Rating 6/10, Manga 9/10
